CareWorks Earns Compliance from URAC Monitoring On-Site

In early July, CareWorks was contacted by URAC as we were selected for a Monitoring On-site. As an already accredited organization, the Monitoring On-site was an abbreviated review process, ensuring our operations were in compliance with URAC standards. URAC reserves the right to conduct these types of short turnaround monitoring events for accredited organizations.

URAC is an independent, nonprofit health care accrediting organization dedicated to promoting health care quality through accreditation, certification and commendation. URAC's standards keep pace with the rapid changes in the health care system and provide a mark of distinction for health care organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality and accountability.

On July 19, a URAC Reviewer spent the day at CareWorks’ corporate headquarters, analyzing our processes, documentation and organization. She left our offices noting everything was in compliance and that she would complete her findings with URAC before we received official notification of our review performance.

On August 1, 2013, CareWorks received URAC final confirmation of being compliant with Case Management, Version 4.0.

“Your organization is considered compliant with the above mentioned URAC standards as of the date of the review,” wrote Susan DeMarino, RN, MSHS, CPHQ, RN-BC, Vice President of Accreditation Services, in her August 1 email to CareWorks announcing our performance. “It is a hallmark of a quality organization to maintain accreditation requirements. We appreciate your ongoing commitment to quality,” she added.

“By demonstrating compliance with national standards, this monitoring event reaffirmed the quality of our processes and the quality of service our associates deliver each day to employers, injured workers and providers," said Richard J. Poach, President and Chief Operating Officer of CareWorks.

It will continue to be CareWorks’ mission to deliver high quality case management services consistent with nationally recognized standards for our employer customers and their valuable employees.
